I recently had the coolest experience of getting professional eyelash extensions, and since this was so new to me and I had so many questions leading up to my first appointment, I though I would share with you all the details of my experience as well as everything you need to know about getting eyelash extensions! Also!! Stay tuned for a special offer at the bottom of this article!!
Eyelash extensions are essentially tiny silk, mink, or synthetic hairs that are carefully glued to your existing lashes, not your skin or any part of your eyelid. They are rarely (really never) uncomfortable and they make your eyes look amazing even when you have just woken up!
Before And After
A look at my lashes before my appointment, right after, before my first fill, and after my fill!
It Seems Expensive, But It Is Luxurious
Overall, after having lashes for a few weeks now, I find that they are very much “worth the price.” The experience is quite luxurious. I get mine done with Ashley at Attitudes Uptown in Oxford, Ohio, and during the appointment I get to lay still listening to music next to an aromatherapy diffuser. It is very relaxing and some people fall asleep for the whole appointment!
They Are Highly Customizable
In my Youtube vlog below I go into great detail regarding the specifications I chose for my lashes. If you would like to view the process up close and learn more just hit the play button!
You can customize the length, curl shape, thickness, and volume of your lashes, so there are infinite lash styles to achieve with eyelash extensions!
Yes You Can Wear Makeup With Them
Just be careful of some ingredients! For your bottom lashes, I recommend using an oil free mascara, and when you remove makeup, it is also best to use oil free products! Some say that you should not get water or other liquids near them ever, but this only applies to the first 12-24 hours after your appointment.
They Last Longer Than You Think And Should Be Removed Professionally
It is recommended to get your lashes filled every 2 to 3 weeks, though lashes can last up to 6 weeks. You can wait for them to fall out naturally, or if you are impatient like I am you can have them professionally removed! The removal process is simple and does not damage your natural lashes if done properly!
